Mr Josh to submit report on M'lore violence soon
Mangalore, Oct 19: The One Man Committee appointed by the National Commission for Minorities to inquire into the recent communal violence in Mangalore City and rural areas, in which two people were killed and about 100 injured, would submit its report within three days.
Mr Harcharan Singh Josh, who heads the Committee, talking to newsmen after visiting the affected areas in Ullal and B C Road, said that he would be meeting Governor T N Chaturvedi, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and Opposition leader in the Legislative Assembly N Dharam Singh, before finalising his report.
He said that during his interaction with the affected families many complaints were received against the police atrocities in the name of search.
Expressing his deep concern, Mr Josh said that " it is regrettable to note that law enforcing agencies have taken law into their hands and attacked innocents instead of taking action against miscreants who indulged in spreading violence."
