Maitri to set up condoms distribution points on Highways

Shillong, Oct 19 (UNI) Maitri, a Shillong-based NGO, will set up condom disbursing points in all vulnerable areas of the National Highway in order to contain the spread of HIV/AIDS in North Eastern states.

''We have identified National Highways 37,44,40,54,151 and feeder routes covering the states of Asom, Tripura, Mizoram and Manipur to select the distribution points, Maitri Chairperson Winnie Singh told reporters here yesterday.

Maitri works for HIV/AIDS awareness and advocacy.

Ms Singh said the target of the condom distribution points would be on the highways for truckers and other vulnerable people.
