New Delhi, Oct 19: Larsen&Toubro Ltd (L&T) today clocked a 41 per cent increase in its net profit for the second quarter ended September 30, 2006, at Rs 201.22 crore, as compared to Rs 143.05 crore for the corresponding period last year.

The company's total income also rose 9.5 per cent to Rs 3,847.80 crore for Q2 FY07 from Rs 3,511.79 crore for Q2 FY06, a company statement said.

Yesterday, the company's joint venture with Oman-based Zubair Corporation, Larsen&Toubro (Oman) LLC, secured orders worth Rs 550 crore for construction of multi-storied apartments at Sohar in Oman.
