K'taka Govt has not sought postponement of Chamundeswari bypoll: CM
Mysore, Oct 19 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today made it clear that his Government has not written any letter to the Election Commissioner to postpone the byelection to the Chamundeswari Assembly constituency in Mysore district.
Speaking to mediapersons here, he said this was a "creation" of the Opposition Congress and added that his party was already preparing for the byelection.
On fielding a common candidate by the JD(S) and coalition partner BJP for the bypoll, the JD(S) leader said it would be decided by leaders of both parties soon.
Dismissing the charge that official machinery had been misused in the constituency, Mr Kumaraswamy said he had announced development works not just in the constituency, but all over the State. He would not care about the Opposition remarks on his style of functioning and asked them to cooperate in the developmental works.
Referring to the incident in which senior Congress leader Prabhakar Kore, MLC, was shot at in Belgaum district, he said it was purely a family dispute and wished him speedy recovery.
