Hindustan Construction Q2 net at Rs 4.17 cr

Mumbai, Oct 19 (UNI) Construction and engineering firm Hindustan Construction Company Ltd (HCC) has reported a net profit of Rs 4.17 crore for July-September as compared to a net profit of Rs 35.67 crore, including extraordinary profit of Rs 40 crore from joint ventures.

Announcing the results, the company said during the quarter under review, it reported total sales of Rs 426 crore.

''The composition of order backlog has changed significantly over last few months and for the first time power projects have taken the lead,'' Chairman&Managing Director Ajit Gulabchand said in a statement.

Power projects accounted for 47 per cent of the order book of Rs 9,819 crore as on September 30, 2006, the company said.
