Heavy rains likely in Kerala
Pune, Oct 19 (UNI) Heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in Uttar Pradesh, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, coastal Karnataka and Lakshadweep.
They are also likely to occur at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Telangana, south interior Karnataka and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Dry weather will prevail over sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Jharkhand, Bihar, Rajasthan, Gujarat State, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and north interior Karnataka.
The north-east monsoon has commenced over Tamil Nadu, Kerala, adjoining parts of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. It has been active in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
Heavy to very heavy rains had occurred at most places in Kerala, while heavy rains had occurred at most places in Tamil Nadu.
Very light rain had occurred at isolated places in Assam, Meghalaya, Gangetic West Bengal, Haryana, coastal Andhra Pradesh, coastal Karnataka, south interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep.
Rain or thundershowers had occurred at a few places in west Uttar Pradesh, Rayalaseema and at isolated places in Orissa and Uttaranchal.
Dry weather had prevailed over Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Jharkhand, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Gujarat State, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana, south interior Karnataka, Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Day temperatures were markedly above normal in Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh. They were appreciably above normal in Manipur, Mizoram, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir, Rajasthan, Konkan, Goa, Vidarbha, in some parts of Gujarat state and Telangana.
The temperatures were above normal in sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Orissa, Bihar, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, coastal and south interior Karnataka and Kerala. They were normal over the rest of the country.
Night temperatures were below normal in Orissa and Jharkhand, while they were appreciably to markedly above normal in Haryana, Rajasthan and north Madhya Pradesh.
The temperatures were above normal in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, south Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat state, north Madhya Maharashtra, Vidarbha and coastal Karnataka. They were normal over the rest of the country.
