Goal-rush in Nehru Sub-Junior Boys hockey
New Delhi, Oct 19 (UNI) It virtually rained goals in the 24th ONGC-Nehru Sub-Junior Hockey Tournament with GRM Secondary Public School, Nangloi pounding Government Inter-College, Chamoli (Uttaranchal) 14-0 and Thenzawal Higher Secondary School, Mizoram pummelling Baruipur High School, West Bengal 11-0 here today.
In another match, Governement Boys High School, Jamshedpur beat Don Bosco 3-1. Satish Kerketta, Ranjeet Tirkey and Gulshan Toppo scored for the winners, while Ricky Dang reduced the margin for the losers.
In the first match, Mohit slammed six goals as GRM Secondary Public School toyed with Government Inter-College, Chamoli and struck nine goals in the first half itself, adding another five after breather.
Apart from Mohit, Ajay scored a hat-trick for the winners, while Amit Kumar, Sumit Kumar, Manjeet, Naveen and Vinod Kumar chipped in with one goal each.
The game between Thenzawal Higher Secondary School and Baruipur High School was also a mis-match and the Mizo boys led 6-0 at half time.
For the winners, Ramluahpuia struck three goals, while K Lalruatfela, Lalremluata and Vanlalhmangaiha scored a brace each.
Other goals came through Lalmuansanga and Zoremsanga.
