Committee to submit report on Mangalore violence within 3 days

Mangalore, Oct 19 (UNI) The One Man Committee appointed by the National Commission for Minorities to inquire into the recent communal violence here in the city and rural areas, in which two people were killed and about 100 injured, would submit its report within three days.

Mr Harcharan Singh Josh, who heads the Committee, talking to newspersons after visiting the affected areas in Ullal and B C Road, said he would be meeting Karnataka Governor T N Chaturvedi, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and Opposition leader in the Legislative Assembly N Dharam Singh, before finalising his report.

He said during his interaction with the affected families, many complaints against police ''atrocities in the name of search'' were received.
