BJP charges cong with delaying Delhi Masterplan 2021
New Delhi, October 19 (UNI) Delhi BJP president Harshvardhan today accused the Congress of deliberately sitting on the Masterplan 2021 till the MCD elections next year to make it a poll plank.
"The Central Government is deliberately delaying the implementation of Master Plan 2021. The motive is to make a political advantage in the MCD elections to be held next year," he claimed, according to a party release.
The BJP chief said this was despite the fact that "yesterday the Supreme Court made it clear that the central government may implement it whenever it desires and provide relief to the scores of people".
The release also noted that Chief Justice of India YK Sabbharwal had expressed his displeasure over delay in implementing the Master Plan.
Yet, the Central Government continues to mislead the people by calling the matter subjudice, Dr Harshvardhan said.
Already running too late by six years, the Master Plan 2021, if implemented, would have saved the people untold misery, the release quoted BJP leader as saying.
The Government's concern ends with votes, the release mentioned warning the Congressmen against the building backlash.
The BJP leader called upon the authorities to stop making politics out of a plan intended to do the people more good than bad.
