Airtel launches 'Voice SMS'
Bangalore, Oct 19: As a Diwali gift, the country's leading mobile service provider Airtel today launched in Karnataka 'Voice SMS', which enabled subscribers to laugh, sing and cheer in Short Message Service (SMS).
Announcing the launch, Bharti Airtel Limited, Karnataka, Chief Executive Officer (Mobile Services), Deepak Mehrotra said 'Voice SMS', which was set to revolutionise the mobile messaging industry, was a personalised voice message service that enabled users to message in their own voice and in the laungauge of their choice.
Customers were also offered the choice to laugh, sing and cheer in an SMS. ''It is a short voice message service based on the 'talk and listen' messaging alternative to the 'type and read' messaging service provided by SMS,'' he added.
To a question, he said 'Voice SMS' would be launched in other States gradually.
