6 dead, 11 injured in jeep-truck collision

Hisar, Oct 19 (UNI) Six people were killed and eleven injured, in a head on collision between an overcrowded jeep and and a grain-laden truck today on National Highway ten near Hansi in Hisar district of Haryana.

Police said the injured were rushed to the Hansi civil hospital.

Five of them were stated to be in a serious condition.

Three of the deceased have been identified as Suraj Mal, Jaipal and Raju of Sissar village of this district. The three others were yet to be identified.

The jeep, carrying 17 persons, was on way to Mundhal when a truck collided with it on Rampura bridge, about one km from Hansi, at about 1715 hrs. All the six deceased were killed on the spot.
