Water supply schemes being remodeled, says CM
Shimla, Oct 18 (UNI) Expressing concern over large scale environmental and ecological damage in Himachal Pradesh, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today said his government was formulating a master plan for soil conservation to maintain the ecological balance.
Addressing a public meeting at Chakloo in Chamba district after inaugurating Rs 57.20 lakh lift water supply scheme, he said his government had ordered the augmentation and remodeling of all the water supply schemes to meet the drinking water supply needs of the people of the state.
Mr Singh said the water supply schemes with reduced water discharge would be remodeled to augment the drinking water supply schemes and meet the drinking water needs of the people.
He said the developmental activities in the state had gained momentum since his government came to power on March, 2003, adding that his government was committed for the balanced development of all the areas.
Mr Singh also announced the up-gradation of GMS Kutdeh to Senior Secondary School and primary school at Jaila to middle school.
