Varanasi blast case to be heard on Nov 1
Varanasi, Oct 18 (UNI) Extending by two more weeks the judicial remand of Mohd Waliullah -- the mastermind and prime accused in March 7 Varanasi twin blasts -- a Sessions Court here today posted the high profile case for hearing on November one.
Special Judge (Essential Commodities Act) Narendra Rawal, hearing the case also gave a last chance to Waliullah to hire counsel by the next hearing, to contest his case, failing which the administration will be directed to arrange a lawyer for him.
The judge also extended Waliullah's judicial remand by two more weeks and fixed November one as the date for next hearing in the three cases -- blasts at the Sankatmochan temple and the Varanasi Cantonment Railway Station, besides the recovery of pressure cooker borne explosives from Dashashwamedh locality.
Earlier, Waliullah, lodged in the Central Jail here was brought to the District Jail amid tight security for today's hearing in the case.
At least 18 people were killed and over 100 others wounded in twin blasts that rocked the Sankatmochan temple and Varanasi Cantonment railway station within a span of 15 minutes on March 7 last.
