Trinamool, Cong jointly agitate against land acquisition
Kolkata, Oct 18 (UNI) The Congress and the Trinamool Congress today jointly staged an agitation in protest against acquisition of multi-crop land at Singur for Tata Motors' small car project.
Addressing the demonstrators, Trinamool Congress Legislature Party leader Partha Chatterjee gave a clarion call to wage a ''holy war'' against the government policy in order to safeguard farmers' interests.
Mr Chatterjee called upon those, who extended their support to the October nine ''Bangla Bandh'' in their battle against the Left Front government.
Congress leaders Chandrima Bhattacharjee and Krishna Debnath also addressed the gathering.
