T Purushottam wins in CPAI rapid chess
Hyderabad, Oct 18 (UNI) T Purushothaman of Guntur won the Chess Players Association of India (CPAI) Andhra Pradesh State Open Rapid Chess Tournament concluded here today Corporation of Hyderabad Indoor Sports Complex, Ameerpet.
In the last round, he defeated P V V Seshu. Purushothaman scored 6 points from as many rounds, while Seshu got the second position with 5 points.
Both along with 3rd placed M Y Raju (5 points) qualified for All India Knock-out Tournament to be held at Pune from October 30th, said CPAI AP wing CEO Lanka Ravi This was the second major tournament being organised by the CPAI AP wing at Hyderabd. The first was the ONGC cup international open held in the month of March.
During the event, Grand Master Abhijit Kunte of Pune had given simultaneous display with 30 players.
