Six people killed in two road accidents in K'taka
Bangalore, Oct 18 (UNI) Six people, including two women, were killed and four others injured in two road accidents in Karnataka today.
Police said three persons were killed and four others injured when their van collided head-on with a sand-laden lorry in Talaghattapura police station limits in Bangalore rural district, about 30 km from here.
The victims were returning to their village after admitting their child for treatment to a speciality hospital on the outskirts of the city. While one person died on the spot, two others died on the way to a hospital. The injured have been admitted to a hospital.
In the other incident near Pharangipete on the outskirts of Mangalore city, an LPG tanker rammed into a van, killing two women and the van driver on the spot. Two children, who were also travelling in the van, miraculously escaped unhurt.
The two women were the wife and mother-in-law of Kodagu District Superintendent of Police Dr Ramachandra Rao, police added.
