Sexual assault case against ex-SP

Jammu, Oct 18 (UNI) Police today registered a case against a retired Superintendent of police (SP) for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman police constable in 2000, official sources said.

Following a directive from Jammu and Kashmir State Human Rights Commission (JKSHRC) on the complaint of the alleged victim, Chhanni Himmat police filed a sexual assault case against former SP Choudhary Chirag Din, sources said.

The woman police constable, in her complaint to the Commission, accused her senior officers of not taking any action against the SP, who retired from the service in 2005, they added.
