Seminar on 'Metro Traffic System'
Kochi, Oct 18 (UNI) A two-day seminar on 'Metro Traffic System for Greater Cochin' was inaugurated here today.
Addressing the gathering, Mayor Mercy Williams said the light metro rail system would be a boon for Kochi as the traffic was rising at an alarming rate.
The seminar would comprehensively deliberate on the proposed two-phase project.
The first phase connecting Aluva with Petta would cover a distance of 15.3 km and in the second phase, Jose Junction would be connected with Mattancherry covering 11 km and Palarivattom with Kakkanad, a distance of 4.5 km.
The seminar, organised by the local centre of The Institution of Engineers in association with the Cochin Corporation, would present papers on Development and Prospects of Inland Water Ways, Integrated Transport Infrastructure, Sky City, Road Corridor Development and Road Infrastructure Development.
