Sadhvi, three others held in disappearance case
Nagpur, Oct 18 (UNI) The police in Amravati today arrested Jain Sadhvi Siddhishri and three others in connection with her mysterious disappearance from the city earlier this week.
Amravati Commissioner of Police Jagan Nath said Siddhishri, formerly known as Samata Babulal Khabia (21), had fled to her lover Rajnikant alias Rajjubhai Talwar's (27) residence in Sangli, from where she was brought to the city this morning. Siddhishri, Talwar, Talwar's mother Suman and sister Rupali have been arrested under sections 120 (B), 295 (A), 440 and 192 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Nath said.
An offence had also been registered against Talwar's father Suryakant, he added.
Nath said Siddhishri and Talwar were in love and wanted to marry.
However, fearing opposition from the society, they hatched a conspiracy to make it appear as if Siddhishri had been incinerated so that she could leave the order, he said. Talwar made the necessary arrangements and Siddhishri fled to Sangli with Suman and Rupali in a private bus, he also said.
Talwar first met Siddhishri during a discourse series in Sangli in 2004, Nath said. Later, Talwar remained close to her on the pretext of 'serving' her, and subsequently the two developed relations, he said.
There was sensation in Amravati after the Siddhishri mysteriously disappeared on Sunday, leaving behind a heap of ash amid claims that it was a miracle that the Sadhvi was incinerated without damaging anything else in the room.
