Red Hat announces developer programme in India
Bangalore, Oct 18 (UNI) World IT major Red Hat today launched a Developer Programme and made available 108.redhat.com portal to connect and empower open source developers.
The world's leading provider of Linux and Open Source solutions to the enterprise today observed 'Red Hat Developer Day' for the first time in the country. The exclusive Red Hat event, organised in the city, was aimed at bringing together Linux developers and users to help grow open source technologies, development techniques, tools and standards through sharing of technical knowledge and expertise.
Red Hat India President and Managing Director Nandu Pradhan said the event marked Red Hat's efforts to encourage open source development in the country. The developer programme would provide a place for the company to deliver developer-oriented content for anyone developing, testing and deploying solutions that include Red Hat and other vendor platforms. Through the programme, the community of customer and corporate developers would be encouraged to collaborate on the portal, help define what technical content they need and in some cases, to become editorial voices themselves, he said.
''In the last one year, India has been a witness to large scale enterprise deployments of Linux across verticals, including Government, financial services and telecommunications. Through our Open Source Symposium and Red Hat Developer Day, organised during the last two days, we are bringing together the open source technologies that are helping the large enterprise customers of Red Hat globally,'' he added.
