Power theft worth rs 7.5 lakh unearthed
Jamnagar, Oct 18 (UNI) In a massive anti-power theft drive, the vigilance teams of Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Limited (PGVCL) have unearthed power theft worth Rs 7.5 lakh from various parts of the district.
According to the PGVCL sources, as many as 50 vigilance teams had conducted simultaneous raids at 198 places in Jamnagar, Dhrol, Jamkhambhalia and Lalpur taluks of the district.
During the raids, the vigilances teams found as many as 24 illegal connections while nine connections with drawning excess power. The entire operation was carried out for farming connections only.
The power theft by these alleged connections were valued at about Rs 7.5 lakh, the sources added.
