OIL pays Rs 168 crore to government
New Delhi, Oct 18 (UNI) The Oil India Limited (OIL) has paid an amount of Rs 168 crore to the Centre as the final tranche of dividend at 80 per cent for the financial year 2005-2006.
The company had earlier paid first interim dividend at 110 per cent amounting to Rs 231 crore and a second interim dividend of 75 per cent amounting to Rs 157.5 crore during the year.
The total dividend paid to the Government of India for the year 2005-2006 amounts to Rs 556.5 crore being 265 per cent of the paid up capital of Rs 210 crore held by the President of India.
The cheque was handed over to Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Murli Deora by OIL Chairman and Managing Director M R Pasrija.
The company had paid a total dividend at 160 per cent amounting to Rs 336 crore to the Government of India for the year 2004-2005.
