Khalistan Liberation Force terrorist remanded to custody
Gurdaspur, Oct 18 (UNI) A local court today remanded to police custody till October 22 a ''Khalistan Liberation Force terrorist'', Nishan Singh, who allegedly gave shelter to militants Jagtar Singh Hawara, Paramjit Singh Bheora and Jagtar Singh after the three had escaped from the Chandigarh's Burail Central Jail.
Nishan Singh was arrested last night at a naka in Kalanaur in the district, SSP Paramraj Singh Umaranangal here said.
The Gurdaspur district police had registered a case under sections 212, 216, 124A and 153 IPC against Nishan Singh on April onethis year following revelations that he had given shelter to Jagtar Singh Hawara and his associates after the jailbreak incident.
The SSP said Nishan Singh was also an accused in several murders and other cases registered against him during the phase of terrorism in Punjab.
Nishan Singh had once been arrested during Operation Black Thunder at the Golden Temple in Amritsar, the SSP added.
