ISO 9001:2000 certificate for training centre

Chennai, Oct 18: Southern Railway's Zonal Electric Traction Training Centre in Avadi here was certified with ISO 9001:2000 by M/S TUV NORD for making it a centre of excellence in the field of training for the loco pilots, Assistant loco pilots and maintenance staff.

A Southern Railway press release yesterday said the mission of this certificate was to develop the knowledge, skill and attitude of the train staff by imparting systematic training thereby achieving excellence in their respective fields.

This was the first training centre under Southern Railway to receive the certification, the release claimed.
