Guj Congress flays Modi's proposed study tour to Israel
Ahmedabad, Oct 18 (UNI) The Gujarat Congress today flayed Chief Minister Narendra Modi's proposed all-party study tour to Israel.
Mr Modi has proposed an Israel tour by all the Gujarat MLAs and MPs, cutting across party lines, to study the ''progress Israel has made in the field of agriculture''.
However, a Congress release here today condemned the proposed foreign jaunt that would entail expenditure of lakhs of rupees of public money at the fag end of the present assembly term. ''Had this really been a study tour, its agenda would have been set appropriately and announced at a proper time,'' the release said.
''The Congress would never be part of the stunt,'' the release added. The release claimed that Mr Modi has planned the tour only to placate the dissidents within his party.
Instead of organising such tours, Mr Modi should focus his attention on ending the miseries of the farmers, the release said while alleging that despite Mr Modi's promise of providing 18 hours of uninterrupted power supply to the farmers, they were actually receiving only seven hours of power.
