Five panchayat sevaks suspended

Sahebganj, Oct 18 (UNI) Deputy Commissioner Manikant Azad today suspended five panchayat 'sevaks' of Borio block in this district who were found absent on 'block day'.

Mr Azad said here that all the five panchayat sevaks--Varnwas Malto, Rahmat Hussain, Merajul Haq, Anil Kumar Pramanik and Motilal Sah--were absent on October 17 which was the 'block day'.

Tuesday of every week is observed as 'block day' throughout the state to sort out problems of people living in the concerned blocks and the government had directed that all the block officials be present on that day.
