Dengue case reported in Sirsi

Sirsi, Karnataka, Oct 18 (UNI) A teenager, admitted to a private hospital here on October 16 with suspected dengue fever, has been confirmed to be suffering from the deadly disease.

Government doctors, who examined Prabhat Yaji (16) at the private hospital on instructions from the District Health Officer here, said it was confirmed after blood tests were conducted.

They said that for further treatment, the parents of the affected have been advised to approach Manipal Hospital, Udupi.

Yaji, studying in tenth standard, had been undergoing treatment at his school for the past one week. As there was no sign of cure, his parents had admitted him to the private hospital.
