CPM dubs BJD's "Bijaya Yatra" victory for industrialists
Bhubaneswar, Oct 18 (UNI) CPI(M)'s Orissa unit today described the 'Bijaya Yatra' organised by the ruling BJD in the state as victory for the industralists ''who had successfully grabbed'' forest, mines and land in the guise of setting up industries.
Party's state unit secretary Janardan Pati told newsmen here that the government was taking credit of handing over the resources land to industrial houses when over two crore people, including thirty lakh landless ones, were leading a precarious life.
He alleged that the government was showing undue eagerness to protect the interest of the business houses ignoring the plight of the poor.
''The education system in the state has totally collapsed with the abolition of hundreds of teachers' posts,'' he said adding the government had resorted to recruiting adhoc teachers on a contract basis for a meagre salary.
Mr Pati said the state executive of the party had decided to apprise the people of the 'economic crisis' and launch a statewide agitation and dharna on October 31 to protest against the rise in prices of essential commodities.
