Counting halted following bomb threat
Chennai, Oct 18: Counting of votes for the elections of the Kuntrathur, Sri Perumpudur and Mangadu town Panchyats was held up for about half-an-hour following a bomb threat to a private engineering college where the counting centre was located at Kuntrathur suburb today.
Official sources here said Mr Manohar, in charge of the counting centre, received an anonymous call. He alerted the police.
Police rushed to the spot with a bomb detection squad and conducted a thorough search. But no bomb was found, the sources added.
The counting resumed, the sources said.
