Canon India targets Rs 1,000 cr revenue by 2009
New Delhi, Oct 18 (UNI) Targeting a revenue of Rs 1,000 crore by 2009, Canon India Pvt Ltd, the wholly-owned subsdiary of Canon Singapore Pte Ltd, today launched 51 new products including digital cameras and camcorders besides inkjet and laser printers.
The company aims to touch a revenue of Rs 500 crore by 2007, of which it is confident of acheiving Rs 400 crore by the end of this calendar year, as compared to Rs 306 crore last year.
''The growing per capita income, consumer cycle and people becoming more tech-savvy are the factors behind Canon setting such targets,'' Canon India Vice President Alok Bharadwaj told reporters here.
Mr Bharadwaj added that the company seeks to increase its market share to 30 per cent by 2009 from the present 21 per cent.
The company plans to ramp up its retail partnership to 25 by 2008 from the present 7.
The newly launched products include 10 consumer products, 13 SOHO, 12 commercial products and 10 corporate products. The price range of the products begin from Rs 3,500 to Rs 1,35,3995.
Canon India markets consists of a comprehensive range of sophisticated contemporary digital imaging products that include photocopiers, multifunctional peripherals, fax-machines, printers, scanners, digital cameras and mulimedia projectors.
It has offices in seven cities across India and employs over 400 people.
It imports products from manufacturing units abroad in Singapore, Japan, Thiland, Malaysia and Vietnam.
