US war against terror exposed: J
Jammu, Oct 17 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)) has said the bogey of war against terror by US and its allies has sufficiently been exposed and people are now realising that it is imperialism which has been promoting terrorism all over the world.
While addressing a convention in the border district of Poonch last evening, state secretary of CPM, Mohammad Yusuf Tarigami said the struggle against terror cannot be successful unless a broader resistance is organised against imperialistic domination.
CPM leader, while deliberating on situation prevailing in the sub-continent, said peace process is the only befitting answer to violence and terror. If peace process gets derailed or weakened, it can only oblige those forces who have vested interests in the on going uncertainity and thereby continuation of terror and counter terror, he added.
About the prevailing situation in Jammu and Kashmir, Mr Tarigami said, ''All the political parties have to cool down for a while and ponder over the sufferings of the people in the state.'' ''We hope to stop thinking in terms of partisan interests and the people of the state are crying of more maturity from the political leadership,''he said.
''There is no ready made soultion to this problem but it can come only through the process of dialogue and the solution must ensure that people of our state are strengthened at every level,'' he said.
Further adding that any solution which divides the people on communal lines is fraught with dangerous consequences, the CPM leader said Jammu and Kashmir must be given maximum empowerment keeping in view the democratic urges and aspirations of each region and sub-region must be protected constitutionally, politically and economically. ''CPI(M) strongly believes that the solution of our problems lies in the emergence of a genuine federation in our state.
However, for that peace between India and Pakistan is necessary beacuse without peace between these two countries, peace in Kashmir is unimaginable'', he added.
Comrades Sham Prasad Kesar, Bishan Dass, K K Bakshi, A G Hafiz, Om Prakash and Kishore Kumar highlighted the problems of the peasants, workers and youths of the state.
