US-based IT trainer company in Chandigarh

Chandigarh, Oct 17 (UNI) World's largest IT-training company, New Horizons Inc, US has began operations in Chandigarh, with the opening of its 22nd learning centre here today.

''Opening a US-based IT training centre in Chandigarh will widen the horizon of IT scenario in the region'' Mr Vivek Atray, the Union Territory, Director, Public Relations and Tourism said at the inaugural function.

The Centre in Chandigarh is expected to cater to industry-specific training, according to Mr Abhinav Malik, Senior Manager of New Horizons India Ltd.

The company operates in 52 countries with 257 centres across the world. It started its operations in India in November 2002 and now has 22 centres in the country, the major ones being in Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, Hyderabad and Cochin.'' Talking about the courses being offered, Mr Malik said New Horizon courses are broadly classified into three categories namely Carrier Club, Tech Club and Classic Zone. Carrier club has special one-year software courses- New Horizon Certified Networking Engineering (NHCNE) and New Horizon Certified Web Specialist (NHCWS) that can be pursued after plus two and graduation.

Tech Club offers short duration hardware courses of one to six months, comprising Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE), Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) and Oracle Certified Data Base Administrator (OCDBA). The Classic Zone includes short-term courses in designing and programming.
