Two killed, 19 injured as bus mows down people

Bangalore, Oct 17: Two persons, including an employee of defence aviation major HAL, were killed and 19 others injured when a Volvo bus belonging to the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation mowed down people waiting at a bus stand here this evening.

Police said the mishap occurred in front of the Helicopter Division of HAL at Marathahalli beyond the airport when the driver lost control of the vehicle. An enraged mob later set the bus on fire.

Police intervened and controlled the situation.
