TDP dares Cong to complain to Kalam against Sorabjee
Hyderabad, Oct 17 (UNI) Defending former Attorney General Soli J Sorabjee, whose remarks on Andhra Pradesh Government in the Gouru Venkat Reddy clemency case had drawn flak from the Congress and the main opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) today, TDP asked the ruling party to give a complaint to President A P J Abdul Kalam against the former.
Party spokesman M V Mysoora Reddy, told in a press conference here the Congress Government was sure to land itself in further trouble if it 'misadventured'.
The noted constitutional expert had only stated the constitutional position that under Article 163, the Governor was bound to go by the state cabinet's advice,'' Mr Reddy maintained, adding that the Chief Minister and then Governor and Union Power Minister Sushilkumar Shinde, who had not asked to exercise the option of asking the Chief Minister to reconsider, were morally bound to resign.
The Cabinet meet, which was supposed to discuss people's issues, had been turned by the Ministers into a forum to cover up its mistakes on the issue, he charged.
