Sri Lanka elect to bat after winning the toss

Jaipur, Oct 17 (UNI) Sri Lanka skipper Mahela Jayawardane won the toss and elected to bat against Pakistan in the Group-B league match of the ICC champions Trophy here today.

Pakistan, playing their first Champions trophy match, are without their star fast bowlers Shoiab Akhtar and Mohammed Asif both of whom have gone back home after testing postive for drugs.

Their replacements Abdul Rehman and Yasir Arafat are yet to arrive in India.

Sri Lanka, who came up with flying colours in the qualifying stage of the tournament, have fielded an unchanged side from the one that trounced West Indies by nine wickets on October 14 in Mumbai.
