Signals and Systems bags order from TNEB

Chennai, Oct 17: City-based Signals and Systems (India) Private Limited, a SANDS group company, has bagged an order worth Rs 1.84 crore from the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB).

Under this project, the company would supply its Common Meter Reading Instrument (CMRI) for TNEB, which was useful for engineers to download data from three-phase electronic energy meters, a company release here said.

CMRI was compatible with energy meters of different makes and helps predict various anomalous conditions, analysing the consumption pattern and planning for future demands, it said.

Signals and Systems India also provides software solutions for analysing the data like wiring verification software and electronic meter data conversion and analysis software, it said.

CMRI was used by various industries for comparing their energy consumption pattern with their production levels, which helps them to optimise the utilisation of power.

'CMRI is a very useful tool for electric utilities, as they are expected to forecast their demands based on consumption patterns.

The data generated using CMRI instrument helps users record, analyse and profile the demand pattern, resulting in reduction of penalties.

The data is also used for conducting energy audits and identifying loss pockets,' Company CEO L R Rajagopal said.
