Senior tax officer caught in vigilance net

Bettiah, Oct 17(UNI) Vigilance sleuths caught red handed a commercial tax officer here today while he was accepting bribe.

Official sources said Assistant Commissioner of commercial taxes Abhimanyu Singh was arrested when state vigilance bureau personnel allegedly found him taking Rs.25,000 in cash from a prominent businessman of the town.

The operation was conducted under a special drive to book the corrupt officials under various departments of the state government.
