Sarojini Naidu Award for PTI scribe
Patna, Oct 17 (UNI) Senior scribe of Press Trust of India(PTI), Dr. Kavindra Narain Srivastav was conferred with prestigious Sarojini Naidu Award for best reporting on role and contribution of women in Panchayati Raj System.
Dr Srivastav, the first journalist from Bihar to get this award, also achieved the distinction of being selected for the first time from any news agency across the country.
The award, given by an international institution, 'The hunger project' was selected by a panel of eminent jurists including Mr N Ram, famous journalist and editor of 'Hindu', Aparna Sen,an internationally acclaimed film producer, George Mathew, director of Indian Institute of Social Science and other luminaries from various fields.
Carrying a cash prize of Rs two lakh and a citation, the award was presented to Dr Srivatav by Union Panchayati Raj Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar in a functinon organised in New Delhi recently.
