Police head constable shot dead in Kashmir

Srinagar, Oct 17 (UNI) A head constable of the Jammu and Kashmir Police was shot dead by militants in the city here this afternoon, official sources said.

They said Vikram Singh was shot at and critically wounded by the militants from a very close range near the general bus stand at Batmaloo this afternoon.

He was shifted to a hospital where he was declared brought dead, the sources said.

This is the second attack on police personnel in the city during the past three days. On Sunday, a police constable was killed and another critically wounded by militants in the busy Lal Chowk area of the city.
