Pilgrim slips, dies

Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh, Oct 17 (UNI) A pilgrim died when he slipped over the parapet wall and fell into a 20-foot deep valley at Chakratheertam near Silathoranam here today.

Police said Bhaskar (55) of Srikakulam in Andhra Pradesh, who was working as a government employee in Orissa, had come here for a darshan of Lord Sri Venkateswara at the temple here when the mishap occurred.

He died en route to hospital. The body was sent to the Government Ruia Hospital in Tirupati for post-mortem.
