Pak, Afghanistan not to speak publically on contentious issues
Islamabad, Oct 17 (UNI) Pakistan Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri has said Islamabad and Kabul leadership will not publicly speak on the issues facing their countries.
Mr Kasuri told media on Monday that an understanding to the effect was reached between the presidents of both the countries in a meeting in the United States.
Pakistan and Afghanistan have been engaged in a war of words following misunderstandings surfaced between them early this year after Afghan officials began accusing Islamabad of not doing enough to check the ongoing cross border infiltrations by resurgent Taliban and al-Qaeda fugitives.
The Foreign Minister said Pakistan had proposed several measures to address concerns about cross-border movement, but Afghanistan was reluctant to accept them.
He said these proposals included the shifting of Afghan refugees, especially those in camps, to the other side of the Durand Line and mining or fencing of the international border.
