New sugar factories in Banka and Siwan

Patna, Oct 17(UNI) The Bihar government today cleared the proposal for installation of two sugar factories worth Rs 500 crore each in Siwan and Banka.

Cabinet Coordination Secretary A K Chauhan said here that the state Cabinet gave its nod to the proposal of Kolkata-based Kamalpur industries for opening new sugar units at both the places.

In another important decision, the Cabinet approved the proposal of five per cent hike in dearness allowance for the state government employees.

With the fresh increase, employees would get 29 per cent dearness allowance on their basic salaries, he added.
