Mizos smile and music enthralled Kalam

Aizawl, Oct 17 (UNI) India's first citizen A P J Abdul Kalam was enthralled by the smile and music of the Mizos during his visit to Mizoram.

''I could see only smile on people's faces throughout my journey in Mizoram,'' Dr Kalam said.

Enjoying the nature's beauty he said, ''I also heard an impressive melody of musical instruments played by the young Mizos amidst the lap of nature.

''These people presented a lovely farewell song, 'The world of Parting','' he said.

''The emotional content and the tune of the song touched my heart to the core,'' he said.

Dr Kalam was also impressed with a traditional 'Cheraw', a colourful and vibrant bamboo dance, performed by the local artists during his visit to Raj Bhavan here yesterday.

The Mizos welcomed the President and interacted with him standing along the road.
