Local body election vital for party: AICC

Lucknow, Oct 17 (UNI) All India Congress Committee (AICC) today termed the forthcoming local Body election important for the party.

Attending a meeting at the party office here, party general secreatary Ashok Gehlot alleged that people had seen misrule during the regime of the Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh government.

''Now people will bless Congress by making the party win the coming local body and Vidhan Sabha assembly elections.'' UPCC state president Salman Khurshid said ''over the years, the popularity of Congress has risen and it would surely regain its past glory in the 2007 assembly elections.

The party would start 'jail bharo andolan' from November.
