Jaya calls DMK victory 'artificial'
Chennai, Oct 17 (UNI) AIADMK General Secretary and former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today alleged that the ruling DMK had gained an 'artificial' victory in the Madurai Central by-election by indulging in 'irregularities.' Making light of the DMK's victory in the by-poll, she said in a statement that the election outcome was on the expected lines.
Stating that the AIADMK had suffered worse defeats than this and had bounced back to register spectacular victories, she said that victories and defeats are not permanent in politics.
Ms Jayalalithaa said the number of votes polled in the by-election is not the true reflection of people's views.
An opportunity would soon emerge for people to express their true wishes and state of mind through democratic means, she said and asserted that the AIADMK Government would be in place again.
She exhorted the party cadre to continue with party work and continve to serve the people.
