Helmet rule to be imposed in K'taka from Nov 1st
Bangalore, Oct 17: Karnataka Home Minister M P Prakash today said wearing of helmet by two-wheeler riders will be made compulsory from November one.
Talking to reporters here, he, however, said pillion riders have been exempted from the rule.
Mr Prakash said a CoD inquiry had been ordered into the recent riots in Mangalore and surrounding areas. Besides, Additional Chief Secretary A K Agarwal had been asked to conduct a study and submit a report within two weeks, he added.
He said the Ministry had planned to open eleven new police stations at a cost of Rs 65 lakh each this year.
