HC issues notices to Union and states on dengue outbreak

Chandigarh, Oct 17 (UNI) Punjab and Haryana High Court today issued notices, returnable on November 6, to the health secretaries of the Union, Punjab, Haryana governments and the Chandigarh Administration about the deaths being caused by dengue fever.

A division bench comprising of acting Chief Justice S S Nijjar and Justice S S Saron issued the notices after preliminary hearing on the PIL by Viresh Shandilya of Ambala.

The PIL sought directions to concerned authorities for checking the disease which was largely due to bad sanitary conditions.
