French tourist robbed; Looters arrested within minutes

Mysore, Oct 17 (UNI) In a swift action, the city police today nabbed a six-member gang, which had assaulted and robbed a French tourist atop Chamundi Hills, within a few minutes.

Police said the gang attacked Thiakime, a resident of France who visited Chamundi Hills this morning, with clubs while he was coming down the hills and robbed Rs 5,000 in cash, his Visa card, ATM card and other belongings.

Some road repair workers, who noticed the commotion, alerted a few vendors in the area, who inturn informed the police. In a swift action, police nabbed the robbers within 30 minutes with the help of the public.

The injured tourist was treated at K R hospital here. The gang had come from Bangalore by train this morning, police added.
