Five women injured in train

Vijayawada, Oct 17 (UNI) An unknown miscreant has injured five women passengers in the ladies compartment of the Tirupathi-Howrah Express train between Vijayawada and Gudivada stations this evening.

Railway police said the person, wearing a monkey cap, entered the ladies compartment at Madhuranagar station after the train left for Vijayawada, and reportedly threatened the passengers with a knife when they refused to hand over their belongings.

He escaped at Tarigapulla with gold ornaments and cell phones, after injuring the passengers.

The injured were admitted at Gudivada government hospital after the train reached Gudivada railway station.
