Five people get life imprisonment

Hardwar, Oct 17 (UNI) A local court has sentenced five people to life imprisonment for murdering a man in Saharanpur district of UP on October 14,2002.

The Additional District and Sessions judge R D Paliwal sentenced the five accused under sections 302 and 14 of the IPC and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on them yesterday.

If they failed to pay the fine, they would have to undergo an additional imprisonment of one year, said the district government counsel, K P S Chauhan.Besides this, two and them were awarded an additional imprisonment for one year under sections 25/4 of the Arms act.
